DESIGN PROCESS

1. IDEA
Your idea for changes/additions/ to your home or for a new building
2. CONTACT
Contacting an architect, interior designer or landscape designer to help develop
3. DEVELOP
The development of the idea over a few weeks to establish and ground the needs that the building/space must fulfill
Typically, 2-3 weeks
4. VISION
After development an overall image of the building/space can be formed and presented. An ideal view of the final product
Typically, 2-3 weeks
5. SKETCH
The initial planning for the spaces, layouts and more detailed image of what it will look like. Most changes are made in this time to make sure that the building meets the needs for it
Typically, 2-3 weeks
6. TECHNICAL
The refinement of the sketch plans into documents that can be used for approval and as a baseline for building work. Ad etailed image of the final product can be produced here as well as showing the flow and layout as it will be.
Typically, 4-5 weeks
7. WORKING
The detailed drawings required for building and interior design. These include plumbing and furniture layouts, schedules (list of items and their technical details), detail drawings of unique features and any technical drawings required by the building team to complete the building. Some will be provided by specialists.
Typically, 2-3 weeks
8. BUILDING
The commencement of building. Some necessary changes may come out due to activities, technicalities or un-foreseen on site.
