WHY DESIGN?
Why do we really need this in our lives?
Design in all forms -Â but especially of the home - date back to the dawn of civilisation as we know it. The critical selection of shapes, layouts, openings and finishes have ensured our survival throughout the ages and further allowed us to express our cultures, religion, community and individuality.
Every decision we make for our spaces stems from this long history and understanding it and studying it, is a long and ongoing process through which not only the 'designer' but everyone associated learn and grow and develop greater and greater spaces.
Though not everyone can be a designer, everyone benefits from design.
The analysis and careful layout of spaces can improve the impact on each person that experiences it and can even improve health and well-being. As we change with time, so do our spaces, and with the help of a designer you can bring out the hidden gems and make a marked difference on the quality of your home.

THE HOME LIBRARY is a Residential Architectural and Interior Design company created by Erica Davison. The intention for THL is to bring high-end design standards and practice to all scales and budgets.
